Mental Health is a Driving Force Behind My Campaign

It's one thing to suffer in silence with mental health, but it's a whole different subject to be a parent of a child struggling. For many years, I was ignorant to the fact that my daughter Francesca was struggling internally with depression and suicidal thoughts. It wasn't until she spiraled into a deep depression and tried to take her life on three separate occasions that I smacked in the face with the reality of mental health and how real it is. Growing up I was told to get over it, stop crying or I will give you something to cry about, so I followed the poor comforting skills I was given. Boy was I wrong.
